IMPORTANT UPDATES

Bibis Coronavirus Update

We aim to do the very best for our guests, our staff and the business itself.  Bibis will follow the guidelines of the government throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

UPDATES FROM THE TEAM AT BIBIS

24/02/2022

All Coronavirus restrictions in England have now been lifted.  We remain cautious and many of the practices we had put in place during the pandemic will remain in place. These include sanitising points throughout the restaurant, enhanced and regular cleaning, monitoring staff illness and operating by table service only to reduce movement around the restaurant.

27/01/2022

Staff are no longer required to wear masks but they can if they choose.  Guests may choose to wear them or not.

Our staff are still regularly testing and we encourage guests to do so too before visiting Bibis.

Other precautions:

  • There is no bar service in order to avoid crowds gathering. We offer table service only for all drinks.
  • We have sanitising stations available for all customers and staff around the restaurant and we have enhanced cleaning schedules.
  • Bibis is a large restaurant with high ceilings and we’re making sure we keep doors open as much as possible to allow for ventilation.

We always have done and will continue to follow the government guidelines. If any new restrictions are brought into effect before your booking, we will comply with these and we ask for our customers to please do the same. We have worked very hard to ensure Bibis is as safe as possible for our guests and staff and we thank you for supporting our family owned and run business.

18/12/2021 | 6pm

An update for our guests.

We have put together some new measures to ensure the safety of our guests and team.

  • Our staff are now required to wear face masks during opening hours. We politely ask that our guests wear masks if possible when not seated at their table.
  • Our staff are now required to take daily lateral flow tests. We think it’s a sensible precaution for our guests to take lateral flow tests before visiting Bibis if they’re able and willing to.

14/12/2021 | 12pm

We have continued to maintain a safe environment for our guests with spaced out tables, sanitising stations around the restaurant, enhanced cleaning and our staff take regular lateral flow tests. Guests are welcome to wear masks if they choose but it's not the law for now.

Please continue to support our family business.  If you are planning to cancel or amend a booking, please give us as much notice as possible.

18/05/2021 | 9am

Following the most recent government announcement on 22 February 2021 we’re hopeful that we will be able to reopen and welcome you back again from week commencing 17 May 2021.

Our online bookings system is now open and we will be releasing the new showtimes by the end of March.

Most of the team regrettably remain on furlough for the time being however a few of us are soon to be back at work (albeit working reduced hours from home).  We will try our best to be in touch with guests who have outstanding deposits as soon as we possibly can.   We kindly ask for your patience at this time.  Bibis will continue to honour all deposits paid and expired vouchers as we have done during the enforced closures in 2020.   Details regarding deposits, vouchers and bookings please refer to our website.

We cannot wait to reopen our doors and greet our fabulous guests once again. Stay safe in the meantime and we very much look forward to meeting once again!

Team Bibis are raring to go and we can’t wait for you to join us!

Ciao,
TEAM BIBIS

UPDATES FROM THE TEAM AT BIBIS

5 January 2021 | 1pm

Following the government’s announcement on 4 January, England has entered a period of national lockdown and as a consequence Bibis will sadly remain closed.

Clearly these are extremely challenging times for everyone, however we feel certain that the patience and hard efforts of people around the country will pay off and happier and healthier times are on the horizon.

We will update the website regarding when we can reopen based on advice we receive from the government over the coming weeks. All bookings, until the date of reopening, will now sadly be cancelled and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Bibis will continue to honour all deposits paid and expired vouchers, as we have done during the enforced closures in 2020. Details regarding deposits, vouchers and bookings can be found here HERE.

We regrettably have to keep our team furloughed for the time being. We will try our best to be in touch with guests who have outstanding deposits as soon as we possibly can be. We kindly ask for your patience at this troublesome time.

Please do stay safe, continue to cook healthy meals at home (you will appreciate our delicious Italian food even more when we finally meet again!) and look after your loved ones.

Here's to when we meet again in what we hope will (eventually) be a happier and healthier 2021.

Ciao for now,

Team Bibis

17 December 2020 | 1pm

Following the government update on 17 December 2020, Leeds will remain in Tier 3 and as a result we’re unable to open. We’re heartbroken and for the first time in a long time, “we’ll be home for Christmas.”

We regrettably have to furlough the rest of the team for the time being however please be assured we will honour all deposit as we have done throughout the year. Details of our position regarding cancellations and deposits can be found HERE.

We will be in touch with everyone as soon as we return to the business in the new year. Please be patient with us and we ask for your understanding at this very difficult time.

Please stay safe, look after your loved ones.  Here’s to when we meet again in a happier and healthier 2021.

Buon Natale from Team Bibis.

UPDATES FROM THE TEAM AT BIBIS

6 December 2020 | 11am

We’re keeping everything crossed that Leeds will have some good news from Number 10 on the 16th and hopefully we’ll soon be able to open our doors to allow our guests to safely enjoy some festive fun with their family!

The restaurant is decorated, the Showtimes are all in place and the Bibis Elves are primed and ready to end this year on a high with our fabulous guests!

Our Christmas and New Year plans (which have been done… redone… done again… and again… and again!) are still in place and we want to reassure our guests that bookings and deposits will be revisited if we have bad news (We hear Santa is putting in a good word to Boris for us all though!).

Our booking systems are open and we hope you will continue to support our independent and family owned and run restaurant and visit us just as soon as we get the green light!

We’re ho ho hoping for the best!

Kindest Regards

TEAM BIBIS

The full list of measures we have put into place can be viewed here: BIBIS BEYOND COVID 19

More information will be posted on our website and on our social media platforms in the coming days. For now bookings are open from noon on 4th July and we cannot wait to welcome you back through Bibis grand doors!

A message for our loyal customers and friends...

20 June 2020 | 6pm

You might be aware that the government are due to announce the 4th July as a time when restaurants are able to reopen their doors. We are keeping everything crossed that we will soon be in a position to let you know that Bibis will be open and ready to welcome you and your family back again through the iconic Bibis doors!

The team here at Bibis have stayed safe and well and we’ve enjoyed our time with our families, with plenty of home cooking, home schooling, volunteering and time spent reflecting on our personal and professional lives.  As a team we’re excited to finally return to the restaurant! We’ve missed the theatre and excitement of our open-plan kitchen, the buzz of the cocktail bar, the sounds of Showtime and most importantly – we have missed you.

The easing of the coronavirus measures is a cautious step towards a new normal and we have all faced difficulties and disappointments, so many things missed; weddings, birthdays, celebrations and special family occasions.

Please keep following our page for updates and thank you all for your ongoing support through these difficult months.  Here’s to supporting each other in happier and healthier times.

Oliver, Luciana & Team Bibis

UPDATEs FROM Managing Director, OLIVER TEODORANI

20 March 2020 | 1pm

It’s with a heavy heart that we have taken the agonising decision to temporarily close Bibis Italianissimo as a result of the coronavirus outbreak here in the UK.

The welfare of our customers, team and the wider population is of paramount importance to us and we feel that temporarily closing the business is the right thing to do morally.

Bibis has been in business for nearly 50 years and over the decades has adapted to overcome many challenges. We did so - and will continue to do so – with the fantastic support of our team and our loyal customers. We have always emerged stronger than before and we are confident that we will do so again.

Thank you for your loyalty and understanding during these difficult times and don't forget... We will be back!

In the meantime we’re working behind the scenes to see how we can diversify and support our customers and team. Please, watch this space!

Well wishes and stay safe.

From Team Bibis.

17 March 2020 | 12pm

Bibis Italianissimo have made the decision to remain open for the time being and for the sake of our staff and the bookings we have.

We will do our absolute most to mitigate any potential issues including spacing out tables to aid with social distancing and the restaurant will operate at a minimal capacity.

Our Showtime events are currently in review and we will contact guests directly in regards to queries or cancellations.

Our scrupulous health and safety standards are being maintained and cleaning and hygiene processes are being reinforced with the latest advice from the Public Health guidelines.

All extra precautions are being taken and we are regularly sanitising all hard surfaces, table tops, chairs, door handles, crockery, glasses, cutlery, taps etc.

Additional hand sanitisers have been added to the venue along with posters regarding advice and symptoms of Covid-19 to look out for.

Our management team are extremely diligent and our staff are fully aware of the guidelines being advised by the UK government in regards to hand washing and sanitisation.

Our team are regularly briefed on the government’s updates, we are diligently tracking travel movement and no one who has returned to the UK from any of the affected areas is in direct contact with the restaurant or any of its team members.

We have asked any member of our team to stay away and isolate themselves for 14 days if they feel unwell, have a new and continuous cough or high temperature. This also applies if a member of their household shows any of the aforementioned symptoms.

We would kindly ask our guests to take the same precautions and adhere to the government guidelines.

Further advice can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response

We will update our guests and loyal customers as and when further advice is given by the UK government.

Well wishes and kind regards

Team Bibis
